Michael’s passion for building started early, at just 12 years old, when he built his first home alongside his father in Mandarin. That hands-on foundation led him to work as a framing contractor throughout high school and college in Gainesville, Florida, before earning his Florida contractor’s license in 1989.
Over the past three decades, Michael has built an impressive career in design/build construction, working on new homes, multi-family developments, commercial projects, and high-end remodels. In 2002, he pivoted into building science, joining North Florida’s largest industrial hygiene firm and founding a new division focused on quality assurance inspections and consulting for home builders—specifically targeting the prevention of water intrusion and mold issues. Under his leadership, the division expanded across the Southeast.
In 2006, Michael launched BiltRite, which he continues to lead today. What began as a vision has grown into one of Northeast Florida’s most established and respected home inspection firms, now serving the real estate community with a team of seven inspectors.
As Director of Construction at Relevant Interiors, Michael oversees a continuous pipeline of luxury renovation and improvement projects throughout Northeast Florida and across the Eastern United States. Working closely with our design and construction teams, he ensures every project is executed with precision, integrity, and long-term performance in mind.
